Nashville Estate Planning and Probate

Moving Forward by Planning for the Future

Estate planning is the process of formally determining how real and personal property will be disposed of in the event of death. For clients with children who are minors or have special needs, it is also a process by which they can express a concrete preference for a guardian for a child and otherwise provide for a child in the event of death.

At Lindsey + Amonette + Nemer, we believe that everyone should have an estate plan, regardless of a client’s income or whether she has children. As a result, we are thoroughly committed to assisting clients in the process of moving forward by planning for the future through the following types of estate planning:

  • Last Will and Testament;
  • Living Will;
  • Durable Power of Attorney; and,
  • Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare.

Moving Forward after the Loss of a Loved One

Probate

Probate is the judicial procedure by which the estate of a deceased person is administered by a personal representative. The probate process includes opening the estate for probate, ensuring that all known or reasonably ascertainable creditors are notified, evaluating any claims made by creditors, filing any necessary tax returns, and generally guiding the personal representative through the process of carrying out the terms of the deceased’s will or otherwise disposing of the deceased’s property and the probate process.

At Lindsey + Amonette, we are experienced in the probate process and dedicated to helping our clients move forward during what is often a difficult time.
